"I grew up in Allentown and over the years I've lived in Arizona and Florida …. However, believe it or not, a wrong turn on a winter’s night brought us to the sweet town of Honesdale.  On that dark, cold, snowy night in December, we drove by some interesting houses that were for sale, so we stopped to talk to a realtor.   We told them what we liked, older house with charm, and would you believe, we came back 3 weeks later and put a deposit on the 2nd house they showed us. Shocking as it was, since I wasn’t really sure where I was, it all felt right!  It was fate!  And now over 28 years later, I’m still enthralled with the beauty of Wayne County and the surrounding areas.

Getting into real estate in 1985 was the best thing that could have happened.  With inventory all over the northeast, I got to see way more of Wayne County and even Pike, and Susquehanna Counties than most people ever do.  So many beautiful lakes and ponds, gorgeous views, picturesque farms, and even the Delaware River’s special fly fishing spots!  I tell my customers that once they get settled, get a map of Wayne County, a full tank of gas, and maybe even pack a picnic and take of tour of the county.  It is just beautiful!! Besides meeting so many nice people, driving around our area is one of the blessings of my job.  When you live in the city you don’t have the joy of seeing deer, turkey, fox, and an assortment of other animals which may even include black bear in your travels.

So, if you are thinking about leaving all the traffic and the hustle and bustle behind and you are looking for a more peaceful and interesting way of life, come visit Wayne County.  Whether you are a boating enthusiast, a hunter or fisherman, an artist or photographer or just a lover of nature, there’s something here to interest you.  And, if you like giving back to the community, there are many opportunities to volunteer.  I’ve been volunteering with Habitat For Humanity for the past several years and although I’m not particularly skilled, there is always something for me to do.  Volunteers in many capacities are always appreciated."
